Collection: Traditional Kokeshi
Traditional Kokeshi are simple wooden dolls from Japan, known for their cylindrical bodies, round heads, and lack of arms or legs. Originating in the Tōhoku region during the Edo period (1603–1868), they were originally handmade by artisans as toys or souvenirs for visitors to hot spring towns. Each kokeshi is hand-painted with floral or geometric designs and coated with wax for a smooth finish. They are considered symbols of friendship, good luck, and protection, and their minimalist beauty has made them beloved as folk art collectibles.
