VTT129 - Tsuko-Tegata Wooden Pass – Onneyu Onsen 温根湯

VTT129 - Tsuko-Tegata Wooden Pass – Onneyu Onsen 温根湯

This delightful Tsuko-Tegata (通行手形), a traditional wooden amulet used as a symbolic travel pass, comes from Onneyu Onsen (温根湯), a hot spring town in Hokkaido. Crafted in the shape of a small wooden plaque, it features a cheerful and whimsical illustration of a fox, a cow, and a bear relaxing together under a smiling sun and fluffy clouds, with "HOKKAIDO" written in colorful letters below. The backside is boldly stamped with "温根湯" and protective wishes for safe travel (交通安全) and household safety (家内安全).

Decorated with a red-and-white braided cord, a small silver bell, and a tassel, this charm captures both folk tradition and playful charm. In Japanese culture, the sound of the bell and geta sandal-shaped designs are believed to ward off evil and invite good fortune, making this a meaningful souvenir and protective charm.

A lovely collectible for fans of Japanese folk items, onsen culture, or kawaii-style artwork.

Size: 7 x 10 x 1.5cm
