Wajima (輪島) is a small coastal city located on the northern tip of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It is renowned for its deep-rooted traditions, particularly the production of Wajima-nuri, a high-quality lacquerware that has been crafted in the region for centuries. This artisanal technique involves multiple layers of lacquer and detailed handwork, making each piece both beautiful and durable.
Tsuko-Tegata is a kind of wooden passport that was used in the Edo Period as an identity card for travelers when passing from region to region. They had been sold a lot in Showa period as mingei type souvenirs all over Japan. It's also a protector for safety and peace for family. #VTT05 #PassportKYO
