Ichiro Inazumi born on November 14, 1915 in Murayama Village, Usa County, Oita Prefecture. After graduating from Hokkaido University, he joined Meiji Dairies Co., Ltd., and while working as the manager of the Sendai factory, he learned woodworking from kokeshi craftsman Shoji Suzuki, who lived nearby and was a good friend of his.
After retiring from work, he began making Takahashi Tomoyoshi-style kokeshi dolls in 1975.
