TB76 - Japanese chopstick rests - Wajima-nuri 輪島塗

A presented boxed set of Japanese chopstick rests (箸置き, hashioki) crafted in the traditional Wajima-nuri (輪島塗) lacquerware style. Wajima-nuri is a renowned type of lacquerware from Wajima City in Ishikawa Prefecture, celebrated for its exceptional durability, rich color, and intricate craftsmanship using natural urushi lacquer.

The set includes 5 elegant rests, each finished in a smooth, glossy deep red lacquer with a refined, curved silhouette reminiscent of a bow tie or hourglass shape. Each rest is secured with a white elastic band and displayed on a luxurious gold-patterned background inside the box.

The presentation box features a textured, woven-style white and gold design, with a black label bearing gold Japanese calligraphy that reads 特製 輪島塗 (Tokusei Wajima-nuri), indicating these are special-quality lacquerware pieces.

These chopstick rests are not only practical—keeping chopsticks elevated and the table clean—but also serve as a symbol of Japanese elegance and hospitality. This set embodies the meticulous artistry and timeless beauty characteristic of traditional Wajima lacquerware, making it ideal for both personal use and as an exquisite gift.
