This vintage teapot is a fine example of Kutani-yaki (九谷焼) porcelain, specifically in the Yoshidaya (吉田屋) style, one of the classic Kutani traditions originating in Japan’s Ishikawa Prefecture. The teapot features the distinctive side handle (kyūsu) design, traditionally used for brewing Japanese green tea.
The surface is adorned with vibrant hand-painted enamels in rich tones of green, yellow, blue, and brown — hallmark colors of Yoshidaya ware.
