This item is a traditional Japanese sake cup set, beautifully presented in a wooden box. The box is secured with a green cord and bears the kanji characters 御盃 (osakazuki), which means "honorable sake cups."

The set includes three red lacquer sake cups of different sizes, each adorned with elegant gold designs representing auspicious motifs in Japanese culture:

Pine tree (松 / matsu): Symbol of longevity and resilience.
Bamboo (竹 / take): Represents strength and flexibility.
Plum blossom (梅 / ume): A sign of perseverance and renewal, as it blooms even in the cold of winter.

Together, pine, bamboo, and plum are known as the "Three Friends of Winter" (歳寒三友 / saikan sanyū), a celebrated trio in East Asian art and symbolism, signifying endurance, integrity, and friendship.

This set is often used in traditional ceremonies such as weddings, New Year celebrations, or other important occasions, where sake is shared as a gesture of unity and good fortune. Also it is often collected and displayed in curio cabinets or on shelves as part of Japanese cultural décor.

Their shallow shape makes them suitable for holding small items like rings, earrings, or beads.

Size: 11 x 11 x 3.5cm (L)
9 x 9 x 3cm (M)
8 x 8 x 2.6 (S)
12 x 12 x 8cm (Box)
