Vintage item, never used. This charming pair of 有田焼 (Arita-yaki) tea cups by 華山窯 (Kazan Kiln) beautifully reflects the refined elegance and delicate craftsmanship for which Arita ware has been celebrated for centuries. Founded in 1796, Kazan Kiln is among the oldest and most respected kilns in Arita, renowned for its finely hand-painted porcelain and enduring ceramic traditions. Many of its works bear the hereditary name “Kanyūemon,” passed down through generations of the Kazan family.

The cups feature a graceful soft blue background adorned with hand-painted floral motifs in vivid red, pale pink, white, and yellow tones. The flowing horizontal brushwork evokes the gentle movement of water or wind, while the blooming flowers bring a light seasonal feeling reminiscent of spring and early summer in Japan. Finished with a delicate gold rim, the design balances elegance with everyday warmth.

Crafted in fine porcelain typical of Arita ware, the cups are lightweight yet refined, with a smooth glazed interior ideal for serving green tea, sencha, hōjicha, or small desserts. Their rounded shape fits comfortably in the hands, embodying the Japanese appreciation for both beauty and usability in daily tableware.

A lovely vintage tea cup set that carries over two centuries of Arita ceramic heritage, blending traditional hand-painted artistry with the timeless sophistication of Japanese porcelain.
