This is a vintage Japanese Go (碁盤 goban) set, featuring a solid wooden board with traditional carved legs, a pair of wooden go-ke (stone bowls), and an assorted set of black and white stones. Perfect for collectors, Go enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates classic Japanese craftsmanship.
• Goban (Go Board)
Crafted from a single solid block of wood, this vintage goban has a warm natural tone and visible grain patterns that speak to its age. The top surface features a finely drawn 19x19 grid. It rests on four hand-carved traditional “kumiko” legs, giving the board a dignified and authentic presence.
• Go-ke (Stone Bowls)
Included is a pair of rounded wooden bowls with lids, each showing gentle vintage wear. The bowls have a rich darker wood tone and are well proportioned for easy handling during play.
• Go Stones
The set comes with black and white stones. Please note that the quantities are not equal, as often found in vintage sets.
Black stones: approx. 130 pcs
White stones: approx. 170 pcs
The stones are slightly convex and made in the traditional style. Some natural variations and wear from age are present.
Overall Condition
