SS010 - Miyazaki Omamori Takachiho Magatama

SS010 - Miyazaki Omamori Takachiho Magatama

This is a vintage Takachiho Magatama 高千穂 勾玉, a traditional Japanese talisman associated with protection and good fortune from Miyazaki.

宮崎高千穂 (Miyazaki Takachiho) is a region in Miyazaki Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, renowned for its deep ties to Japanese mythology, Shinto traditions, and breathtaking natural scenery.

Crafted from earthen clay, this magatama (curved bead) reflects a style reminiscent of ancient Jomon-period ornaments, symbolizing spiritual power, connection to nature, and ancestral blessings. Its smooth, crescent-like shape is often believed to ward off evil spirits and attract positive energy.

This particular piece is tied with a green cord for easy carrying or attaching to personal belongings, making it both a meaningful charm and a link to the sacred traditions of Takachiho, a region in Miyazaki Prefecture deeply rooted in Japanese mythology and Shinto rituals. This item was already repaired as photo when I bought it from a second-hand shop, purchase if you don't mind.

Size: 6 x 4cm
