A Naruko kokeshi is a vibrant and beautifully balanced piece crafted by Takahashi Yoshinao, a second-generation artisan from the renowned kokeshi-making region of Naruko in Miyagi Prefecture. The doll embodies all the classic traits of the Naruko tradition symmetry, vivid brushwork, and a timeless sense of serenity.

The head is rounded with a high hairline, adorned with striking red crown patterns and thick black side hair, framing a sweet, cheerful face marked by crescent-shaped eyes, a thin, arched brow, and a small smile. The expression radiates warmth and joy. The cylindrical body features three layers of bold, stylized chrysanthemum motifs, painted in radiant red and accented by contrasting black leaves.
