FT219 - King General Chess Decoration Ōshō 王将
A vintage crafted Ōshō 王将 (King General) decorative shogi piece. This work is made by the shogi piece craftsman Keiichi 圭一, and it carries an impressive and dignified presence.
The front features the bold engraving of the character “王将” (Ōshō), filled with deep black lacquer. Giving it both strength and elegance. The natural warmth of the wood combined with the contrast of the lacquer creates a refined, traditional Japanese aesthetic.
In shogi, Ōshō is the single most important piece, just like the King in Western chess. It symbolizes victory and strength, protection and prosperity.
Larger than a standard shogi piece, this is designed as a display ornament, making it perfect for interior decoration. Placed in a study, living room, or Japanese-style room, it brings an atmosphere of strength and serenity.
Size: 14 x 15 x 5.5cm
