CB180 - Dorei Clay Bell – Hina Doll Yakushigama 薬師窯

CB180 - Dorei Clay Bell – Hina Doll Yakushigama 薬師窯

This is a vintage Dorei clay bell (土鈴) crafted by Yakushigama (薬師窯), featuring a heartwarming depiction of a Hina doll couple (雛人形). The figures are molded into a single rounded form symbolizing unity and harmony, often associated with marriage or family happiness.

Hand-painted in white, the male doll wears a traditional eboshi (court cap), while the female doll has a soft expression and traditional hair style. Their serene faces are complemented by minimalist details in red, purple, and gold, reflecting a classic Japanese aesthetic.

The body is decorated with delicate plum blossom imprints and a red-and-white braided cord attached at the top, signifying good fortune and celebration. As a hina ningyō, this bell likely celebrates Hinamatsuri (Doll's Day/Girls’ Day), a festival wishing for the health and happiness of girls.

Yakushigama is known for producing auspicious folk items and zodiac figurines with a warm, nostalgic charm. This piece is both a collectible folk art item and a gentle symbol of familial blessings and seasonal celebration.

Size: 7 x 4 x 8cm
