CB089 - Rabbit Dorei Clay Bell - Fukagawa Naritasan 深川成田山
This charming white rabbit dorei (clay bell) comes from Fukagawa Naritasan, a revered temple located in Tokyo's historic Koto ward. Carefully hand-painted with gentle red and gold accents, the rabbit holds symbolic elements such as a red camellia branch and a decorative roundel featuring a crane — both auspicious motifs in Japanese tradition.
The rabbit, or usagi, is a zodiac animal representing gentleness, agility, and safe journeys, often associated with fertility and protection. As a dorei, this bell is not only a delightful ornament but also a traditional amulet of sound believed to drive away misfortune and welcome good fortune with each soft chime.
Fukagawa Naritasan, a branch of the famous Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, is deeply rooted in the worship of Fudō Myōō, a fierce protective deity. Visitors often receive these bells as omamori (charms) for health, family safety, and success.
