A vintage dutch ceramic bell from Nagasaki Holland Village features the figure of a traditional “Oranda Ningyō” (オランダ人形) or “Dutch Doll,” a nostalgic representation of the historic ties between Japan and the Netherlands. Crafted in glazed ceramic and painted in rich shades of burgundy, black, and white, the doll is dressed in Western-style 17th-century clothing, complete with a distinctive red hat and black beard, symbolizing the early European traders who came to Japan during the Edo period.

This figure comes from Nagasaki Oranda Mura (長崎オランダ村), or Nagasaki Holland Village, a theme park established to celebrate the Dutch influence on Japanese history and culture—especially in Nagasaki, one of the only ports open to foreign trade during Japan’s period of national isolation (sakoku).

Dorei is a traditional handcrafted bell made from clay or ceramic, these bells produce a soft, pleasant sound when shaken. Often sold at shrines or festivals as charms to ward off evil and bring good fortune. The sound of the bell is believed to purify the surrounding environment and attract positive energy.

Size: 4 x 4 x 7.5cm
