Vintage item, never used. This Papa Pot (パパポット) is a traditional ceramic vacuum flask made by Tōsen (陶泉) in the style of Kiyomizu-yaki (清水焼), originating from Kyoto, Japan.

The flask features a beautiful rustic design with a warm beige glaze, subtle horizontal textures, and bold Japanese calligraphy displaying the character 酒 (Sake), meaning alcohol or Japanese rice wine. Its distinctive design is complemented by a natural braided rope decoration around the neck, giving it the appearance of a traditional Japanese sake bottle.

Known as a China Mahōbin (チャイナマホー瓶), this unique creation combines traditional Japanese ceramic craftsmanship with the practicality of a vacuum flask. Its ceramic exterior houses an insulated interior designed to help maintain the temperature of hot or cold beverages, making it a fascinating example of vintage Japanese household design.

Kiyomizu-yaki (清水焼) is one of Kyoto's most celebrated pottery traditions, with a history spanning several centuries. Known for its refined craftsmanship, diverse glazing techniques, and artistic expression, Kiyomizu ware reflects the rich cultural heritage of Kyoto's ceramic artisans.

With its nostalgic Shōwa-era (昭和) aesthetic, this Papa Pot beautifully combines traditional Japanese folk-inspired design with retro functionality. It makes a wonderful decorative piece for a Japanese-style interior, a unique addition to a vintage kitchenware collection, or a charming gift for enthusiasts of Japanese ceramics.

Comes with its original decorative storage box, featuring a beautiful vintage green and red geometric pattern and the original Japanese product label.
