Ainu Kokeshi are wooden dolls inspired by the culture of the Ainu, the Indigenous people of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island. Unlike traditional kokeshi from the Tōhoku region, Ainu kokeshi often feature designs reflecting Ainu art, such as intricate geometric patterns and natural motifs symbolizing harmony with nature.

These dolls are typically hand-carved and painted, serving both as folk crafts and as cultural souvenirs representing the Ainu heritage and craftsmanship.
