VTT32 - Tsuko-Tegata︱ Tsuwano 津和野町

Tsuwano (津和野町, Tsuwano-chō) is a town located in Kanoashi District, Shimane Prefecture, Japan. There is the drawing of 津和野の鷺舞 “Sagimai" heron dance has been handed down in Tsuwano for 400 years. Although it originated in Kyoto, it is the only heron dance that has continued to be performed without being discontinued to this day. "Tsuwano's Sagimai" has been designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan, and also been registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage as "Furyu Dance." Starting with a dedication at Yasaka Shrine, it is paraded through the town and dedicated at 11 locations.

Tsuko-Tegata is a kind of wooden passport that was used in the Edo Period as an identity card for travelers when passing from region to region. They had been sold a lot in Showa period as mingei type souvenirs all over Japan. It's also a protector for safety and peace for family.
