This unique Tsuko-Tegata (通行手形) wooden plaque is a playful modern interpretation of the traditional Japanese travel pass, issued as a souvenir from African Lion Safari (アフリカンサファリ), also known as Kyushu Natural Zoological Park (九州自然動物公園).
Crafted from natural wood with a rich, warm grain, the plaque retains the classic pentagonal shape of Edo-period travel permits. The front features bold calligraphy reading 通行手形, symbolizing safe passage, alongside inscriptions referencing the safari park.
