This vintage Arita-yaki (有田焼) tea set by Takayama Kiln (高山窯) beautifully combines the refined craftsmanship of Japanese porcelain. The set includes a graceful teapot with a traditional bamboo-wrapped handle and five matching yunomi tea cups, making it perfect for sharing tea with family and guests.

Crafted in Arita, Saga Prefecture—the birthplace of Japanese porcelain—the set is finished in a warm buttery yellow glaze that radiates a gentle vintage character. The interiors of the cups feature delicate hand-painted blue bamboo motifs, while the rounded forms and soft color palette create a calm and inviting atmosphere.

Accompanying the tea set is a porcelain Karako (唐子) figure, a traditional decorative motif representing a Chinese child. Rendered in the elegant porcelain style associated with Arita-yaki and Mikawachi-yaki (三川内焼), Karako figures have long been admired in Japanese ceramic art for their graceful forms and symbolic associations with innocence, prosperity, and good fortune. The serene expression and smooth porcelain finish make the figure a charming complement to the tea set while reflecting the refined sculptural traditions of Kyushu porcelain.

Founded in the historic Arita porcelain region, Takayama Kiln (高山窯) is known for producing elegant tableware that blends everyday functionality with timeless Japanese design. Their pieces are appreciated for their fine porcelain, smooth glazes, and understated decorative motifs.
