A beautiful vintage Japanese 御盃 sakazuki ceremonial cup, finished in a vivid deep red lacquer-style coating with elegant gold decoration. The front features the characters 祝 米寿 — “Celebration of Beiju,” referring to the traditional Japanese celebration of one’s 88th birthday. The gold leaf-like motif in the center gives the piece a festive and auspicious feeling.
On the underside, the cup indicating it was a commemorative piece connected with the Yonago City. It comes with its original storage box and printed care leaflet.
