FA12 - Obijime of traditional Iga kumihimo 伊賀組紐
This obijime 帯締め is a fine example of traditional Iga kumihimo 伊賀組紐 craftsmanship, of Tokusaburō no Himo 徳三郎の紐, and made by the second-generation Hirosawa Tokusaburō 廣澤徳三郎. Carefully hand-braided, the cord reflects generations of skill passed down within one of the most respected kumihimo lineages in Japan.
The design features a beautifully balanced color palette: warm vermilion-orange cords paired with a delicately patterned section in soft white, olive green, and earthy tones. The texture is firm yet supple, offering both durability and elegance when worn. The braided ends are neatly finished, demonstrating the maker’s attention to detail.
Presented in its original wooden storage box bearing the artisan’s calligraphy and seal, this obijime is not only a functional kimono accessory but also a collectible piece of traditional Japanese textile art. Ideal for formal or semi-formal kimono coordination, or for collectors of authentic kumihimo works.
