This Sōsaku Kokeshi was created by Waichi Ishida 石田和市 (わいち), a celebrated creative kokeshi artist active primarily during the late Shōwa period (1970s–1980s). Renowned for his originality and exceptional craftsmanship, Ishida was awarded the prestigious Governor's Award (知事賞) at the All-Japan Kokeshi Competition, one of the highest distinctions bestowed upon kokeshi artisans in Japan.
