In 1952, he established the Kōfū-an Shōgetsu Kiln (江風庵・松月窯) and became known for producing tea utensils and other works rooted in the Hagi-yaki tradition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe vessel has a generously rounded body with a softly constricted neck and wide flared rim, creating a stable and practical form well suited to its function within chanoyu. Its surface is covered in a pale creamy-white Hagi glaze with subtle lavender-grey and warm beige variations, fine crazing and gentle pooling that give the piece a quiet, atmospheric character.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA kensui (建水) is an essential utensil in the Japanese tea ceremony, used to receive discarded hot water and rinse water during the preparation of matcha. Although functional, kensui are often made with the same care as other tea utensils and can be appreciated as ceramic works in their own right.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHagi ware (萩焼) developed in present-day Yamaguchi Prefecture and has been closely connected with the Japanese tea ceremony for centuries.
